Forty years on the road, selling. Gillette, first and above all — and everything it taught me, without which I would not exist. Airports, hotel rooms, sales meetings, markets that did not speak my language until I learned to speak theirs.
I was a Gillette man. I still am. I learned business on the road, across many markets — large-scale food retail, human resources, the food industry, security, charity, diplomacy, humanitarian aid, construction, digital — not only at school. The road is where I still look from, and the road remembers me.
WHERE I HAVE BEEN
- Before 1985 — I started at sixteen, in my mother’s car, without a driver’s license: van sales across all of Calabria, Paper Mate pens and Arquati gold-leaf frames, sold and delivered on the spot. My map was the Gillette customer list my father gave me — 650 grocery stores and tobacconists, every one of them, one by one.
- 1985–2003 — Gillette Italy. I walked in carrying someone else’s briefcase. I walked out a top manager.
- 2004–2006 — Managing Director, Italian cosmetics company
- 2007–2009 — CEO, The BGF Company, Catellinando, Piermeco — Romania
- 2010 — CEO, Burger King Venezuela
- 2011 — Sales Agent, Mecanocar and Würth-Scar Italy
- 2013–2015 — Paraguay, Argentina, Colombia
- 2016–2019 — CEO, Italy
- 2020–2021 — CEO, Spain
- 2022 — Manager, charity work in Africa
- 2023 — CEO, Albania

THE MAN
Sixty-one years old. Sixty-five countries. Forty years on the road. Five languages. Military service in Italy, where I played rugby for the Italian Military National Team: I know discipline, and I know the rules of that world. A Freemason since 1993: thirty-three years in Italian Freemasonry, affiliated with the United Grand Lodge of England — the Mother Grand Lodge. One marriage. Three children. No criminal or civil record — ever.
I don’t smoke. I don’t drink alcohol. I am a believer, raised with a Catholic boarding-school education.
And I can say with absolute certainty that I have always lost with women. My one weakness.
Today I am a professional again, working the way an auditor does: I come in from outside, I read the story behind the numbers, and I tell it straight. I take on one job at a time — I don’t do overlaps.
Part of my work, and one of my assets: Gillette Narrative.
